1. What is a 2018 World Cup fan passport and what is it for?

Unified Fan Passport – this is Russian know-how that has no analogues. For the first time such a system was used on Olympics in Sochi in 2014. The result was successful, so the organizers of the upcoming football tournament decided to take the innovation as a basis, improve it and adapt it to new realities.

A kind of testing of the Fan Identification System took place within the framework of the 2017 Confederations Cup football. Everyone who bought tickets for this tournament is required to FAN ID in international terminology.

The same document, under the same conditions, on the same website and in the same Distribution Centers, will be issued to spectators of the 2018 World Cup. True, the list of cities in which the Centers will operate will expand significantly.

PB is required both for Russian fans and foreigners. The card will identify every visitor to the stadium. The priority goal of the system is provide spectators with comfort and safety during the tournament. Along the way, FAN ID will give its owners a number of benefits.

Namely:

  • free travel on trains, which will run between the host cities;
  • free travel on public and special transport on match days;
  • visa-free entry to the Russian Federation for foreigners.

Fan Identification System(NIB) will help identify hooligans, criminals, representatives of radical fan groups and all those who prevent peaceful fans from fully enjoying the football spectacle. To dubious individuals they just won't issue you a passport, which means they won’t get into the stadium.

For football experts An event of this scale is an additional opportunity.

Personally, I will definitely bet on the winner in the group stage. Right now they are accepting bets on the qualifying tournament - matches at this stage will last until the end of 2017.

Major tournaments are always unpredictable. Even outsiders and " dark horses“have a chance not only to win a single match, but also to overcome the group stage.

Step 2. Apply for a passport

If you choose remote method registration of the Passport, go to the fan-id website, select the language of communication and fill out the application. Enter the ticket number in the special field and fill in the remaining cells.

The following information must be entered:

  • identity document details;

3. Where to get a fan passport for the 2018 World Cup - overview of the main cities

A personalized card of the 2017 model was issued in host cities Confederations Cup 2017 (in the capital, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan) and in Krasnodar, where an additional point for issuing documents has been opened.

It is logical to assume that World Cup 18 passports will be issued at the same centers, as well as in additional points that will open in the participating cities of the upcoming tournament - Kaliningrad, Samara, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don and others.

Issue centers are similar to MFCs and work on the same principle - electronic queue, scoreboard, windows, polite and smiling operators. At the time of writing, the Centers operate according to a single schedule - from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. As CC 2017 approaches, they open additional windows and attract new employees.

It will start working closer to the World Cup even more centers and operators. Will also be created technical support centers at airports to serve foreign spectators. They will issue it there lost and lost passports on the road.

Table of already operating PB Distribution Centers:

The fan-id website has detailed information on how to get to each of the Centers from the train stations.

4. What should be the photo for a fan passport - an overview of the main requirements

Judging by the experience of issuing PBs for the 2017 Cup, most applications are rejected due to incorrect photo design.

Photos must be of a certain size and quality. They should be clear, colorful, without processing in Photoshop and other editing programs.

You are not allowed to take pictures wearing a headdress (with the exception of representatives of some religious denominations), sunglasses or other accessories that make identification difficult.

If the photo does not pass verification, the application will be rejected.

On a forum dedicated to PB, I read dozens of messages with complaints from users who were denied applications due to incorrect photos.

Ivan:

“We announced today that the application was rejected. Formulation: color does not match. So much for “Say No to Racism”! But seriously, what could be wrong with color? Color is like color."

Marat:

“What’s more, I couldn’t upload a photo at all for 2 hours. As a result, I spent half a day sending 4 photos - of myself, my wife and children. And the funny thing is, 3 of them were returned due to non-compliance with the requirements.”

To prevent such incidents from happening to you, carefully study the rules for uploading and formatting photos.

5 rules for the perfect photo for Fan ID

That at the second stage of ticket sales for the World Cup we managed to get tickets for matches in Sochi, Samara and Volgograd. The next stage was the registration of the so-called fan passport, or Fan ID, without which you will not be able to enter the stadium even with a ticket. We had already received such a document before going to the Olympics in Sochi, so the principle itself was generally familiar.
In this post, I’ll briefly talk about my personal experience of going through the procedure of registering and receiving a fan passport and about the fly in the ointment that I had to “face.”

You can apply for a passport remotely using the website Fan-ID.ru. To do this, you will need the number of a successful application for the purchase of a ticket for at least one World Cup match (you can get it in the confirmation email or in your personal account on the FIFA website). After this, you should fill out a form with personal (including passport) data. This takes three to five minutes.

The only problem that may arise is uploading a photo. In principle, you can take a photo at home (in fact, that’s what we did), but the background must be completely white, and not just light, as, for example, when applying for a Schengen visa. I achieved the desired result by rather roughly cutting out the outline of my image in Photoshop and placing it on a white background. The site accepted this portrait.

After filling out the form and uploading a photo, registration is virtually complete. All that remains is to choose the delivery method. A notification with an application number is sent to your email and phone. It must be reviewed within 72 hours. We received confirmation of approval the very next day.
In Moscow, you can get a fan passport at a special issuance center near the Sportivnaya metro station or at one of four public service centers (three in the center and one in New Moscow). The regions also have their own distribution centers. In addition, you can order delivery by Russian Post.
I decided to get a fan ID at Sportivnaya, combining this procedure with. The exact address of the distribution center is Khamovnichesky Val Street, building 34, but in fact the entrance to it is located from Savelyeva Street.

Finding the center is very easy. Coming out of the southern (closest to Luzhniki) metro lobby, you need to turn left, and then actually go around the Yunost Hotel, making two more left turns. Along the way you will come across this sign.

The center itself is also very noticeable. In general, it's hard to miss.

Despite the fact that there are barriers at the entrance to organize queues on the street, even before the Russia-Brazil match there was no particular excitement here. By the way, did you check out the “chandelier” in the shape of a football field?

When entering, you need to take an electronic queue ticket and wait to be called to one of the windows. There you must present your general passport and it is advisable to provide the number of the approved application for Fan ID. After that, you are asked to wait in the hall for another minute, then another girl shouts out your name and patronymic and hands you a fan ID, which is a laminated cardboard with a cord for hanging around your neck. Taking into account all these steps, I spent at most fifteen minutes in the distribution center.

By the way, theoretically, you can register right on the spot (without submitting an application online in advance).

This is where your photo will be taken. True, if there are no problems with taking a photo yourself, I don’t see the point in choosing this registration method.

Here we would like to praise the organizers for making everything so clear, simple and fast. And I will praise you, of course. But, unfortunately, there is one fly in the ointment, very important for our family. You can get a fan ID for someone (and in my case, for your spouse) only with a notarized power of attorney. Simply having her civil passport and marriage registration certificate is not enough. At the Consulate General of another country, I can apply for a visa for my wife, and then get her international passport (and without any unnecessary questions), but to get some unfortunate badge with a lanyard in my country, I must first go to a notary and, by the way, pay him money for issuing a power of attorney! Well, what kind of bureaucracy, motherfucker?!
At the same time (attention!) it is impossible to order delivery of a fan passport by mail throughout Moscow (and therefore to Zelenograd)! That is, now Yulia, no matter how you look at it, will have to spend half a day traveling from Zelenograd to Luzhniki, placing a two-year-old child somewhere during this time. Everything for the people!

And the second fly in the ointment, not directly related to obtaining a fan passport, but related to organizing a trip to the World Cup. If you are counting on free trains to the cities where tournament matches will be held, but have not yet managed to book seats on them, you can’t count on them too much - judging by our matches, there are actually no seats on such trains anymore (see screenshot). Apparently, all of them went to people who managed to buy tickets for the World Cup at the first stage of sales (to reserve a seat on the free train you need to have a fan ID, and to get it you must first buy a ticket for the match).

I think it would be more correct to open reservations for trains after the start of the third stage of football ticket sales (there will still be almost two months before the start of the World Cup at that time - enough time to plan a trip), so that everyone would be more or less on equal terms. Otherwise, it turns out that those who were previously lucky enough to buy football tickets (and this is literally a lottery) were also lucky with train tickets. Well, okay, nothing depends on us here. We have already bought our transport tickets. We're going to the World Cup!
