Domracheva personal. Twelve facts about Daria Domracheva. The main victories of Daria Domracheva

Daria Domracheva was born in 1986 in Minsk. Four years later, the whole family moved to Siberia, where the city of Nyagan was being built. Her parents are architects by profession; it is not surprising that her older brother Nikita followed in their footsteps. Even in her childhood, the future biathlon star loved to dance and play basketball, and then, like her older brother, she became interested in cross-country skiing. The girl liked sports much more than studying at school. At the age of 13, she began training in biathlon. After graduating from high school, Domracheva became a student at Tyumen University, but in 2003 the whole family moved to Minsk, where the girl continued her education.

When her sports career began, Daria participated in competitions for Russia, however, the biathlete herself, who has Belarusian roots, wanted to compete as part of the Belarusian national team. In 2005, she already represented her homeland at international competitions. The athlete was able to achieve good results in a fairly short time, and already in 2010 she was considered one of the strongest biathletes in the world. 2014 brought Domracheva triumph and enormous success: she won the individual races and brought three gold medals to the team. For her record, the biathlete received the title “Hero of Belarus”.

Daria knew her future husband, multiple Olympic biathlon champion Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, many years ago. For the first time, an athlete approached her at the Games in Vancouver to congratulate her on her bronze medal. The girl was then very happy to receive such attention from the Norwegian, who won silver at these competitions. Perhaps then a spark of sympathy flashed between them, which soon developed into a romantic relationship. However, the athletes themselves carefully hid their personal lives, since Bjoerndalen was married to Italian Natalie Santer. But already at the beginning of 2013, Italian journalists reported on the divorce of the spouses.

The lovers' romance continued to develop, and in the summer of 2016, fans of the biathletes learned about their wedding: the newlyweds published photos from the wedding ceremony on their page. In the fall of 2016, a daughter, Ksenia, was born in Minsk, which is why the young parents missed the training stage. However, Domracheva did not stay on maternity leave for long, and already in 2017 she began training.

After the birth of the baby, the biathlete’s personal life changed: now the whole family lives in Norway. And in Minsk, the construction of a new house continues, which Daria has been working on for several years. The couple plans to spend a lot of time not only in Norway, but also in Minsk, so their daughter will definitely know Norwegian and Belarusian. The baby’s 42-year-old father is confident that in the future she will be a professional athlete, however, she will choose to be a skier or biathlete herself. Domracheva’s husband also hopes that his daughter will compete for Norway.

The editors of KYKY are collecting incredible facts about the incredible biathlete: how Domracheva refused to appear nude, why she did not agree to compete for Russia, and how she caught salmonella in one of the Minsk coffee shops.

1. The first female heroine

Daria Domracheva was the first woman to be awarded the highest degree of distinction in the Republic of Belarus. Presented for the award on the day of winning the third gold medal at the Olympic Games in Sochi. Daria - s the youngest and earliest hero of Belarus (awarded at the age of 27). In addition to Domracheva, 10 public figures bear the honorary title, including former head of the National Bank Pyotr Prokopovich, Metropolitan Filaret, artist Mikhail Savitsky.

2. Severe northern woman

Although Daria was born in Minsk, she spent her childhood in the Far North. At the age of four, the future biathlete leaves Belarus with her family and goes to the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, to the city of Nyagan, which is under construction, the main architect of which is her mother. In the 90s, Nyagan was an oil-producing city with a population of 55,000 inhabitants. Cold as a despot. Gloomy, like Edgar Allan Poe. Average annual temperature - minus 1.4°C. From a bird's eye view it is difficult to distinguish Nyagan from Shabanov:

“My parents were planning to spend a couple of years to try what the taiga was... And as a result, we lived in Siberia for 13 years. Now I remember those years with the brightest feelings. I was surrounded by wonderful people - I was friends with many, communicated, and played sports together.” Dasha spends all her holidays in Minsk, which she has adored since childhood.

3. Incident woman

Shooting at shooting ranges the way Daria did is a calling that you have to be born with. She has three anecdotal cases worthy of the pen of Mikhail Zoshchenko. When Domracheva first competed for the Belarusian national team at the World Junior Championships,At one of the lines, the diopter fell off her gun, as a result of which the young biathlete made five mistakes out of five possible and finished fortieth.

Daria had another incident at the fourth stage of the 2008/09 Biathlon World Cup. The athlete reached the next shooting range, being the leader of the race, but instead of shooting prone, she shot standing. That is, she aimed at the upper targets while she had to shoot at the lower ones. As a result, Daria was given five misses.

A year later, at the same World Cup, under similar circumstances, Daria reaches the third firing line, leading by a large margin, but instead of her own targets she begins to attack others. After the third shot, Daria realizes her mistake, but four penalties received as a result of unsuccessful completion of the shooting range force her to stop fighting.

4. Cheerful person

In August 2012, the future Olympic champion recorded an amateur video in which the Belarusian women's biathlon team, consisting of Domrachev-Scardino-Duborezov, in shorts and socks, runs a cross-country race and practices a cheerful polka in an Austrian forest.

Journalists often complain that Dasha laughs during interviews, and fans notice that the champion’s plastic movements are reminiscent of “Crab Dances”:

5. A true patriot

The only reason why Daria fights for Belarus is her patriotic feelings. In 2004, the future champion received an offer to play for our national team and began to pack her bags. But leaving Nyagan turned out to be difficult: Russia did not want to let go of the promising junior. For about six months, Daria fought for the right to become a Belarusian athlete. The decisive evidence in the dispute with the Russians was the birth certificate issued by the Minsk registry office.

Later, Daria was invited to compete for Russia, and, according to the athlete, they offered better financial conditions. However, Domracheva refused.

6. Homewrecker

According to rumors, Domracheva was the reason for Bjoerndalen’s divorce from his wife Natalie Santer. Dasha herself does not comment on this data, stating that the only official information regarding her personal life may be news about her marriage. Norwegian Ole Einar Bjoerndalen is the most titled biathlete in the history of the Olympic Games, championships and world cups. There is a 12 year difference between Ole and Dasha. Once, in an interview with the Belarusian Internet portal Tut.by, Domracheva told how, as a junior, she attended the World Cup for the first time in Khanty-Mansiysk and how much awe she felt in front of the famous athletes, among whom was a young but already titled Norwegian: “It was incredible to see them live, not on TV. Raphael Poiret, Sven Fischer, Ole Einar Bjoerndalen... We, growing biathletes, were incredibly happy to see them a few meters away and get an autograph.”

Ole Einar Bjoerndalen

7. Sincerely loves Scardino's girlfriend

Daria’s VKontakte account is replete with photographs in which two Olympic medalists Domracheva and Skardino are captured in their leisure time and travel. We decided to place the most piquant photo on the pages of our online magazine:

In public, the girls also do not hide their mutual sympathy:

8. Received a scolding from Lukashenko

On the eve of the triumphant Olympics, Lukashenko criticized Domracheva for not trying: “I got the impression that some Belarusian athletes come to competitions for a leisurely jog. The press advertises: Dasha, Nadya. Pride there and so on. But how could it be possible to lose to Berger on the last climb? The best Belarusian skier in biathlon! Well, yes, you ran 350 meters more than her. Is this too much for such an athlete? Why are you losing? Why are you giving up? Why is there no fight?

9. Ended the dynasty

Daria was born into a family of architects. The athlete’s older brother also went into architecture: “Probably, as a child, I was a little fed up with the architectural topic, listening every day to my mom and dad discussing work. And I decided to distinguish myself - I started playing sports! The parents were understanding. They saw that I was good at it and didn’t interfere. And although I did not follow in the footsteps of my mother, father and brother, the creative environment greatly influenced me.”

10. I caught salmonellosis in one of the Minsk coffee shops

Once Daria ordered an exotic flip coffee with a raw egg in one of the Minsk coffee shops, after which she fell ill with salmonellosis and retired from the sport for a long time. The incident proves that it’s not just shawarma that needs to be protected.

11. Refused to do nude scenes

Recently, Daria Domracheva posed for a photograph based on the portrait “Twilight Mood” as part of the “Living Pictures” project. The photo shoot involved a light topless look, but chaste Daria flatly refused to be photographed without a blouse. As a result, she was dressed in a flesh-colored bodysuit.

12. To date, at the 2014 Winter Olympics, Daria Domracheva has reached 11th place in the team event, ahead of Sweden, Australia and France.

Four-time Olympic biathlon champion and Hero of Belarus Daria Domracheva announced her retirement today at a press conference at the National Olympic Committee.

“It wasn’t easy for me to get together and invite you.” I thought for a long time, but it’s time to dot the i’s. After the end of the season, I tried to find a compromise that would allow me to raise a child and combine it with a sports career. Unfortunately, I haven't found an optimal solution. This is a deliberate and difficult decision, but I am ending my sports career. My time in big sport will remain unforgettable.

Many thanks to everyone, from the first coaches, my team and ending with the cooks of the training complexes where I had to prepare. Thanks to the fans whom I felt behind me. Thanks to the family for always being there. And most importantly, thank you to the country for the fact that when I won, I could proudly feel that these were not only my victories, but also the victories of the entire country. Today this is the right decision for me,” said Daria Domracheva.

Daria Domracheva also answered questions about her plans to become a coach and where her family will live.

— At the moment, I am not considering continuing my sports path as a coach.

Our plans are to combine several places of residence. Life schedule allows this. When Ksenia has to go to school, she will have to decide. There are still a few years to think about it.

I want to take a break from the crazy rhythm in which I have lived since I was 6 years old. There are ideas for the future, but it’s too early to reveal ideas.

Domracheva also commented on the difficult period that is coming for the Belarusian biathlon due to the end of her career and the career of Nadezhda Skardino.

“Everything in life has wave-like development paths. Everything has its ups and downs. Of course, there will be a decline in the Belarusian biathlon. It is important that it becomes an impetus for a new return to the top,” Daria emphasized.

After the end of the season, Alexander Lukashenko did not hide the fact that he wanted Daria Domracheva and Nadezhda Skardino to continue performing. But Daria hopes that the leader of the country will treat her choice with understanding.

“On the eve of the press conference, I did not personally communicate with the president of the country, but he is aware. I tried to notify those people who are close to my sports career about the decision. I myself would like to perform endlessly. Sooner or later, life in big sports ends. I hope that the president of the country, like all my fans, will treat this decision with understanding,” Domracheva noted.

The biathlete said that she never made earnings and financial gain a priority in her sports career:

— In my childhood, not a single child who signed up for the section had the goal of getting rich through sports and improving their financial condition. I just tried to show my maximum every day and be even better than this maximum. If every person in his place gives at least 70 percent in the same way, the whole country will live even better,” Domracheva expressed her opinion. “All my achievements became possible thanks to the fact that I focused on my sports goals and on being stronger than myself yesterday. I am grateful to my parents who instilled such willpower in me.

Daria Domracheva emphasized that her husband Ole Einar Bjoerndalen was ready to support any decision of his wife to continue her career.

“Ole was ready to accompany me at the training camp and help me in every possible way. But for me this would be a very difficult period. I would suffer myself and torture my child. It’s not a fact that against such a background it would have been possible to show the result that I wanted. Now we are thinking about what to do with the trailer, we are considering several options. There is also an idea to make a children’s room out of it for Ksenia. Most likely, we will find the optimal use for the trailer and athletes will still be able to use it to achieve their goals.

The Hero of Belarus noted that when she left, she felt like a winner.

- Whatever one may say, I won my last race. Going out to the mass start in Tyumen, I understood: this might be my last race at the World Cup,” the Belarusian shared her memories. — Now there is a feeling of satisfaction. To be completely maximalist, we can say: “We should have won all the races”. But that wouldn't be that interesting. The beauty of biathlon is its unpredictability and undulating performance.

the site conducted a video broadcast of the event.

Answering a question about her role in the future of Belarusian biathlon, Daria Domracheva noted:

“Today I need to take a break from biathlon and the intensity of emotions, and then we’ll see. I don’t plan to open my own biathlon school yet, but I’m not saying categorically no. Do I admit the possibility of returning to big sport? Today I voiced the right decision for me. I’m not going to guess further, but who knows what could happen,” Daria laughed.

Plans for the near future, according to the four-time Olympic champion, are to improve everyday life and stay at home in a calm atmosphere:

— Our planet is beautiful, and there are many places on earth where I would like to go. But now I dream of spending some time at home, putting my everyday life in order. Constantly coming and going to competitions, I had difficulty dealing with the large number of bags and equipment. A great rest will also follow, but later. Where exactly is not so important to me. The main thing is that your loved ones are nearby. Are we planning to expand our biathlon family? We'll wait and see, but definitely not in the next nine months.

In 2018, the legendary biathlete was awarded interstate award "Stars of the Commonwealth".

Daria Domracheva is a famous biathlete from Belarus, who won the title of Olympic champion four times and world champion twice. Today she is one of the strongest biathletes in the world.

Daria was born in the capital of Belarus - Minsk. The older brother Nikita was already growing up in the family. Parents worked as architects. It was because of their profession that the family, four years after Dasha’s birth, moved to Siberia to participate in the development of the new Siberian city of Nyagan, located in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. Since the city was young, architects were in great demand there; my mother later even took the post of chief architect. At first, Dasha’s family planned to live there for only 5 years, but ended up living there for all 15.

Dasha went to school, studied diligently, receiving only A's and B's, and went to her native Minsk for the summer. As for sports, at first she was involved in basketball and dancing, and when she was 6 years old, following her older brother, she enrolled in the ski section. God himself ordered to engage in winter sports in those snowy regions. The girl became interested in a new direction for herself, and began to attend sports school quite often. And at the age of 13 she switched to biathlon.

By this time, Daria was no longer studying in a regular high school, but in a gymnasium with an economic and legal bias. After graduating, she entered the University of Tyumen to study sports management.

When Dasha was 18 years old, the family decided to return back to Minsk, the girl transferred to a Belarusian university, but since it did not have a similar specialty, she entered the Faculty of Tourism Management. In 2009, she successfully received a higher education diploma.

Start of a sports career

At the beginning of her sports career, the young biathlete was trained by Russian coaches, and at her first youth competitions she represented Russia. Dasha already demonstrated significant success back then, winning first places in domestic Russian competitions, prize money in international and European competitions, and also took worthy places in individual races at the World Championships. Of course, the coaches wanted to keep such an athlete on the Russian team. However, having moved to Belarus, Dasha decided to compete for her native country, which is exactly what she herself wanted. It was not easy to move to another team at the invitation of the Belarusian coach; her birth certificate, which said that she was from Belarus, helped.

Thus, she began training under the mentorship of Belarusian coaches six months earlier than she officially joined the national team of this country.

Her first performance as part of the Belarusian national team at the World Junior Championships turned out to be a failure; she showed only the 40th result. Failure overtook the athlete due to a diopter that fell off during the competition, as a result of which she never hit the target when shooting. However, in the next competition, Dasha was able to prove that she could be first.

Daria Domracheva at the next sports competition

Then, for several years, she was regularly among the top ten world biathletes, although her sporting path had both ups (silver and bronze at the Junior World Championships) and downs, when, due to an error, she even had to retire from the race or receive penalties circles for shooting at someone else's target.

In the 2011-2012 season. At the World Cup, Daria had to compete with a truly worthy athlete - Magdalena Neuner. She was finishing her career, and before leaving the sport, she was going to take all possible awards. However, in one category, Daria managed to beat her and win gold.

Daria Domracheva with another biathlon sports cup

Domracheva’s further adult career, like her youthful one, did not always go well. She was still accompanied by either the joy of victory or the grief of unsuccessful shooting. However, Daria managed to become first at the World Championships two times in a row in 2012 and 2013.

But her main victory can safely be considered the triumph at the Olympics in Sochi in 2014. There she twice became first in individual races, and also won gold in mass start races. For Belarusian biathlon, 3 gold medals at the Olympics was a new record. For this, the country's President Alexander Lukashenko presented Daria with the “Hero of Belarus” award.

February 22, 2018 at the Olympics in Pyeongchang At the last stage of the relay, Daria Domracheva finished in splendid isolation with the Belarusian flag. Domracheva became a four-time Olympic champion - the most titled biathlete in the world.

Personal life

Dasha is a pretty and charming girl, so her personal life worried many. For several years, her lover was the young director Maxim Subbotin, who directed several famous TV series. Together they released the documentary “Daria Domracheva. Representing Belarus." It was an autobiographical film about the famous athlete.

Daria Domracheva with her husband Ole Einar Bjoerndalen

Also in 2010, at international competitions, Dasha met another world-famous biathlete, Norwegian Ole Einar Bjoerndalen. Despite the difference in age of 12 years, the young people felt sympathy for each other, but for a long time they hid their relationship from journalists. In 2012, Bjoerndalen left his wife, which only fueled the rumors, but the athletes continued to only brush off annoying reporters. And only in July 2016, the intrigue dissipated after the couple published photos from the wedding. And at the beginning of October their daughter Ksenia was born.
